Thanks and Appreciation

Announcements:

Thanks for Donna S. Ianni, Barbara Champney and Frances Lampman for their generosity and assitance with items on display which tell the story of the Pownal post offies.  Take note of who could carry the US mail in 1803 and what routes existed then.  How long after Vermnt became a state did we have a post office?  Where was the last post office in Pownal Center?

Volunteers:

Thank You:

Thanks to everyone who have supported us recently with purchases at the book sale and helping up with our Gates Grant for a new computer.  Donations of books for our shelves and the next book sale still arrive.  As our square on the quilt says, "Volunteers: The Heart of Pownal" -- and special thanks to Linda Toohey expertise and time.

We appreciate your support! "Thank You" to the following people for their donations, time, and support of the library: Bennington Bookshop, Mr. Jennings, Preite Oil, George Renner, N. Hoyt,          J. Peaslee, the Leons, Mundi Smithers, Pam Hill, Bill & Ruth Botzow, Helen & Don Rogers, John Ulrich & Martina Tietje, and Dr. David & Darcy Hoisington, our webhosts.

As part of the town celebration this year, and as our volunteers work on the automation project, the library will sposor a "how many items in our database?" contest.  Put your guess and contact iformation in our "library appropriate" entry container.  Winners will be drawn in the late Fall.
