Special happenings in 2011-12 coming soon.
This year wil be the last year for our Gates Grant and we will add one more computer for public use and use the remaining funds as directed by the Gates Foundation for the upkeep of the computers/equipment.

Landscaping: You can now see our "open" sign.  We removed the large lilac bushes.  New plantings will soon be added.

Thanks to everyone who have supported us recently with purchases at the book sale and helping up with our Gates Grant for a new computer.  Donations of books for our shelves and the next book sale still arrive.  As our square on the quilt says, "Volunteers: The Heart of Pownal" -- and special thanks to Linda Toohey expertise and time.

We appreciate your support! "Thank You" to the following people for their donations, time, and support of the library: Bennington Bookshop, Mr. Jennings, Preite Oil, George Renner, N. As part of the town celebration this year, and as our volunteers work on the automation project, the library will sposor a "how many items in our database?" contest.  Put your guess and contact iformation in our "library appropriate" entry container.  Winners will be drawn in the late Fall.

We are pleased to have the assistance this fall of David Hagerdon on the 2nd and 3rd Fridays and John Walsh for the 1st and 4th Fridays, and our Thurday person will be Claire.  Meet them all when you visit.

Thanks to all who have been donating books for our upcoming Book Sale this fall - 2011. Tenative date is the first Saturday in November.  Money raised will go toward programming and furniture.
