Come and help the library staff & trustees celebrate the arrival of our eVermont grant equipment!!
These new computers/scanner/software/printers will assist the library in its efforts to support Pownal citizens in their present and future technological needs for business, employment, online & computer familiarity classes, reference sources, entertainment, educational assignments, website construction, health and wellness sites, government forms & contacts, and individual interests and hobbies.
Our delivery person will be _Martha Reid, Head Librarian, Vemront State Department of Libraries accompanied by Amy Howlett, Regional Librarian.__ You are invited to come and meet the state Librarian_ (s) to thank the Department of Libraries for overseeing this part of the eVermont funding.
This grant for the town of Pownal not only meets the needs of the 4 & 5th graders with their Digital Wish netbook computers but will allow other age groups in town to benefit and take advantage of the eVermont
project:
* computer classes, public wifi, free access to FrontPorchForum (a
neighbor to neighbor bulletin board), town website construction
* local library support with grant funded purchases (equipment and
supporting materials) that ensure grant sustainability and value
of internet access for the growing number of computer users as
well as expanded capabilities of providing library services.
Refreshments will be available in the Community Room.
All are welcome to visit, chat, sign up/update your library card at this time and look at our online catalog and get information for Front Porch Forum signup.
